Blue Angels Flying Over San Francisco Cityscape

      These seven brave pilots, who keep us safe, are chosen from among the top pilots of the Navy & Marine Corps. Their F-18 Hornets can break the sound barrier, reaching a top speed of Mach 1.8 (1,190 mph) at an altitude of 40,000 feet. Unbeknownst to most people, they live and work together for a year, so that they become like one.  Millions of spectators watch their air shows around the world. If they didn't stop for refueling, they could circle the globe in 44 hours and 30 minutes. The first female pilot, Katie Higgins, joined this renowned team in 2014.
