An Irish legend describes how they often saved shipwrecked sailors who became castaways. These affable (good natured) creatures caught fresh salmon for them and warmed their frost-bitten feet with their cozy fur. They were spared from Neptune’s wrath and the frigid ocean currents.
In North America, there are only 3,500 otters left. They still thrive along the California coast. They can be seen frolicking along with the 45k ton whales, dolphins & seals diving for fresh mussels & shellfish. They’re comical when they float on their backs & take jagged sturdy rocks to crush the mussels or clams on their stomachs. They work arduously like the renowned stone sculptor Michelangelo once did.
