Rothenburg, Germany

    Kings, paupers, bold knights & artisans have been drawn to this 1,000-year-old medieval walled town that survived the Black Death, which vanquished half of Europeans in 1346. It also survived numerous bombs that decimated this quaint village.  It inspired films such as Harry Potter, Pinocchio, and Beauty and the Beast. The home was emulated to create Belle's house. As you stroll through the cobblestone streets, don't forget to say "guten morgen," good morning. Hurry to experience it; there are only four walled villages left in Germany.
