After the Wild-Wild West came to an end in the late 1800’s, a myriad of pilgrims made their way across the Rocky Mountains to the Sierra Mountains (snowy mountains.) Countless mountain men, cowboys and Native Americans saw this pristine location which is over 10K feet high. Black bears & mountain lions are the sacred guardians of the area. It is 175 miles east of Yosemite and a day’s horseback ride to Mono Lake. The mountains in the photos are Ritter and the Banner Glacier. Shane & the last Star Trek movie were filmed in this area.
